Stephen MinistryMotto: Christ caring for people through people! The Stephen Ministry symbol is a cross and a circle along with a broken person and a whole person. The broken person behind the cross symbolizes the brokenness in our lives due to our sin and imperfections. The whole person in front of the cross symbolizes the wholeness we can only receive through the cross of Jesus. The circle symbolizes both the wholeness we receive through Christ and God’s unending love for us.Mission Statement:The New Prospect Baptist Church, driven by love, led by faith, and kept by hope, “seeks to fulfill the law of Christ”, through Stephen Ministry, by touching the lives of hurting people with the healing love of Jesus. WORSHIP MINISTRYJohn 4:23(NKJV)“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him."True Worship is a lifestyle that recognizes the significance and importance of Christ and His grace that holds on to the truth of God’s Word. Authentic Worship is an expression of praise, adoration, celebration and thanksgiving to a Holy God. Worship is our response to who He is and what He has done for us. Worship is more than speaking and singing, it is how we live and reflect Christ. At New Prospect we offer several avenues to express our Worship through instrumental music groups, choirs, drama, banners, musical productions, and worship services.Opportunities for Worship Involvement:Adult Celebration Choir – meets each Wednesday night at 6:30 pmWorship Band Praise SingersAdult Mix EnsembleBanner MinistryDrama MinistryStudent Worship BandPreschool and Children’s Choirs – Meets on Sunday at 5:30 pmChristmas Schedule We Have Our Savior - December 10th/11th at 6:30 pmThe Great Christmas Giveaway -(Children) December 18th 6:30pm
MISSIONSThe Great Commission is taken very seriously at New Prospect. We believe that we must be about the Kingdom’s business across the sea as well as across the street. We strive to be a Great Commission church by offering many different opportunities for our members to actively be engaged in the “going” of God. We are currently engaged in El Salvador, Romania, Kenya, and Uganda. We desire to take at least two foreign mission trips every year. We are also involved in home missions as well. We have done construction projects as well as evangelism in the states of Alabama and Montana. We are currently partners with New Prospect Elementary in the backpack ministries that feed over 50 children every weekend. Our prayer is, “as we go, may we glow”. As we go by the power of His Spirit, we desire to continue to be driven by love, led by faith, and kept by hope.El Salvador Mission TripJune 16-22 , 2012 (Speak with Kyle James for more details)
Sunday School at New ProspectThe number one purpose of Sunday school is to fulfill the great commission. Here at New Prospect we have three specific tasks to help us with our purpose. They are, reach people for Bible study, minister to people's needs, and teach people God's word. All three of these tasks are vitally important in fulfilling the mandate to the church given by God in Matthew 28:19-20. Sunday School is simply the church organized to fulfill the great commission. Our goal is not to see how many people we can put on a roll; rather our goal is to see the lives of people changed by the word of God for his honor and glory. We offer classes for all ages from the cradle to the oldest adult each Sunday morning at 9:00 am. Our Adult Department offers classes for Men, Women, Couples, and College/Singles. It would be our privilege for you to come and allow us to minister to Sunday School in HD Conference @ FBC Woodstock, Ga. March 15th and 16th Cost $80.00

BELIEFS:HOLY BIBLE The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is, therefore, our one sufficient and authoritative rule of faith and practice. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the sole authority for faith and practice of the Church. No member is required to accept any doctrine not contained in, or that is contrary to, Scriptural authority. The Church shall sustain the principles of freedom of the individual conscience subject only to God, the separation of Church and State, and right of the individual to voice in the affairs of the Church. THE GODHEAD We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit existing as three persons, and yet are still One. These are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and have the same attributes and perfections (Genesis 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 6:3).THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST We believe that the Lord Jesus, the eternal and only begotten Son of God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, became man, without ceasing to be God (Philippians 2:5-8). Jesus Christ is full deity because He is God, and He became fully human as a man. He did this in order that He might reveal God in His righteousness, and redeem man in his sinfulness (John 1:1; 14:9; Isaiah 7:14; I John 4:14).We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His literal death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice. Our justification is made sure by His literal physical, bodily resurrection from the dead (I Corinthians 15:1-4). We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father (Hebrews 12:2) where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Mediator, Advocate and Intercessor (I Tim. 2:5; I John 2:1; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25). We believe in that "blessed hope," which is the personal, imminent, pretribulational, premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. We further believe in His subsequent return to earth with His saints, at the end of the tribulation period, to establish His millennial kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-20:6) SALVATION We believe all men are sinners (Romans 3:10, 23) and in need of the saving work provided by Jesus on the cross. This salvation is a free gift from God (Romans 6:23) to all who will believe and receive (Romans 10:9-13; John 1:12). Salvation is by grace alone, plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to salvation are repentance and faith (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; John 3:16 ;Romans 3:10 ; Romans 3:23 ; Romans 6:23 ; Titus 3:5 ; Ephesians 2: 8-9 ; Romans 5:8 ; Acts 16:31;1 John 5:13)HUMAN SEXUALITY We believe that God has commanded that no sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex.
